Kira Kener is no normal porn star. For starters she's not your typical 19 year old, no brain, skin and bones starlet. Kira is 32 years old and has actual curves! From 1999 to 2005 Kira worked exclusively as a Vivid contract girl. Kira's career started off slow with only a few notable films such as Nurses and The Window but over the years Kira's curvaceous body of work and her own body became more defined and she began to draw legions of fans.
In March of 2002 Kira shared the cover of Playboy magazine with Dasha and in December of 2002 Kira Kener was the Penthouse Pet of the Month. To say the least Kira Kener has become an icon with a very busy schedule.
A lot of rumors surfaced when Vivid did not renew Kira's contract when it ended in 2005. Some thought it might be because of Vivid's decision of "condom optional" movies for their actors but neither Vivid or Kira seemed to be talking. That is until now. My last interview with Kira was in January of 2003. In that time a lot has happened to Kira.
So let us begin ...
I wanted to say thank you for taking the time to speak with us again. It's been far to long since we've last had a chance to find out what was going on with you.
Yes, it is nice to get the opportunity to speak with you again as well.My first thought is to ask what you've been up to since our last talk but that would take hours and hours. I know that you've been a busy girl these past few years. So let's start with something much simpler. :) I've noticed you've lost some weight over the past few years. You were amazingly beautiful before but now you are just jaw dropping gorgeous. What in the world is your secret?
I haven't really lost that much weight but I guess over the last few years I have gone down maybe 10 pounds but I really don't diet. I love food far to much for that. But as you know I have a fairly busy work schedule. That probably played the biggest part in my weight loss but I also enjoy playing basketball and well obviously dancing helps too.Basketball? Really?
Oh yeah! I love playing basketball. I can shoot better than most guys.I can't believe that after all of these years you are still single. It's almost unbelievable. How is this even possible?
You know, that's a funny thing. I don't mind dating or being in a relationship but I don't think I'll ever get married. I think right now more than ever I am truly focused on me and my fans. I need to do what's best for me and well in turn for them. Don't get me wrong, I do love men but I just hate the bullshit that goes with a serious relationship. Too much work, too much drama. I've been in the adult industry over 7 years now, so I have enough drama in my life. I really don't need more.I do understand that. :) So let's talk about that drama. I've been around this business since 1996 and found it to be extremely rare to hear of Vivid girls not getting along. I'm sure it probably happens from time to time but it is something you almost never hear of. In fact, besides the big Raylene and Devon fight, I can't recall ever hearing of two Vivid girls not getting along. So what in the world is the deal with you and Briana Banks?
That's a very good question and one I wished I had a good answer for you. But to be quite honest I don't. We were all at a show in Las Vegas when it all began. We were all tired, short on time, hungry from lack of time to eat and doing our normal mumble and grumble about wanting sleep or food or whatever in the minute or two we had free and then it was time to go back to work and time to turn it back on for the cameras. It's our job and no matter how tired we are, we are paid to put on a smile and be nice and that's what we must do.You are very straight forward and professional with your views of the business side of things. I can appreciate that a lot and I'm sure Vivid could too and they were lucky to have you for as long as they did. So why did you and Vivid part ways?
A few months later I heard Briana was telling someone in an interview what a fake person I was and how rude I was to her. I was really shocked over the whole thing. I couldn't believe it. I detest fake people and was so floored that someone would be accusing me of that. What did she expect me to do? Bitch and complain on camera? Of course I wouldn't be that way. I was at work. I had to suck it up and smile for the cameras. It's called being professional, not being fake. That's just ridiculous.
I'm not really sure why she thought I was rude to her. The best I can figure out is that after we were done with work all I wanted to do is go back to my room, take a long hot bath, order some food and head to bed. Some of the girls decided to head out for a night on the town but I just couldn't do it. If that was rude, sorry but I'm not going to apologize for staying focused on my job. I was paid to be there to work, not party. I can party when I go home. While I was in Vegas I was there to do interviews and sign autographs for fans.
Times change and well, Vivid did too. Vivid isn't the company it was when I first started working for them. Vivid went into a deal with Hustler years ago. As a result their business model changed and instead of focusing on a handful of stars, who they worked on promoting their careers, making them bigger and a result, more of an asset for Vivid, they now contract hundreds of younger girls who they aren't so worried about becoming stars and that's not really a productive environment for me and my career goals.So what are your plans for your future? I'm sure your fans want to know what they can look forward to.
I took a few months off. I rested and then rested some more. I did a few dance engagements and then realized it was time I started focusing on my future and began working with some friends on MY website. There seems to be a lot of so called official Kira sites out there ... my official vivid site, my official whatever this or that, but I'm not really involved in any of them. I want to make something that really is mine. I love the internet and I think if it's done right it can really bring you closer to the fans. But I don't want just any old site, I want my site to be unique and really special. I plan to launch my new site soon. It will be www.KiraKenerLive.com. But that is only one of the many projects I have planned for my new company, Kener Media Group, Inc. Besides movies, I'll be coordinating a lot of live appearances on my website but right now a lot of things are still up in the air and in the works. I wished I had more to reveal to you right now about my new projects but right now it's really all just coming together.We've covered a lot of serious ground tonight so let's lighten the mood a bit and talk about the fun side of you. You love to make jokes about how you are just a dork at heart, but really ...... I think most men would agree you are anything but. So tell us what a day in the life of Kira is like .. that is, when you aren't working.
I don't know. I'm really kind of boring. I like simple things, like curling up with a good book, watching movies or listening to music. You know, normal ole' boring stuff like that.Music? Speaking of that. I hear you have a big thing for KISS. Tell me more about that.
Not really much to tell. I'm not a crazy stalker or anything but I have always been a huge fan of KISS. I love their music and I never miss an episode of Gene Simmons' new show on A&E.That is a good show. I actually watch it myself. But back to you. Your fans always want me to ask you if you could sleep with any one celebrity who would it be and why but I'm going to switch it up a bit and say female celebrity!
I can only pick one? Hmmm. UK Jordan comes to mind but Pamela Anderson is sexy too. I just don't know. Can't I have both? :)
