Kira Kener Interview Drama

I've had my Kira Kener site for more than 7 years. In that time I've always been supportive of her career but now she's just lost it. In October of 2007 Kira Kener or someone on behalf of Kira Kener claiming to be her, publically attacked my website stating that I stole images from her MySpace page. All the images from my site come from her Vivid movies and are owned by Vivid that I use with permission. When I told them this, she decided that my interviews were then fake. When I tried to discuss this with her, she basically (or someone on her behalf pretending to be her) freaked out and ended the discussion, stating that everyone involved in a liar including the people from Vivid and AdultDVD.com.

I asked if if what she says is true, how did they get these answers then that they gave me? Did they just pull them out of their ass? She said "yes" and flat out denies ever doing any interviews for me, despite the fact that I have the original faxes from years ago. So although I don't like to respond to gossip I feel this time I must and here is my side of the story.

I wanted to do an interview with Kira Kener to go with the new website I had just created in dedication of her. I contacted my wholeseller (of her movies) who helped me get in contact with the PR department at Vivid, the company who Kira worked for. They told me to type up my answers and fax them over to them and that they would get them to her next time she was in town as at the time Kira worked only a few times a year - the rest of the time she lived a normal life in north carolina. She would only fly out ot LA (porn valley) a few times a year to work and so I typed up my interview questions as if I was sitting in front of her. About two weeks later my fax went off with a response to all of my questions to Kira.

I typed up the interview as if we had been talking face to face and I posted it.

A few years later I asked the same people if I could get an updated interview with Kira Kener. They said sure, so I typed up my questions and sent them over. Well this time two months went by before I could get a response. I called my distributor and the people at Vivid. Neither of them really had an answer for me as to why I wasn't getting any response from Kira. A few more days went by and I got a phone call from a man at Vivid who had Bobby Vitale in his office.

The rep from Vivid had mentioned to Bobby Vitale that I called him "Mr. Fine Himself" and he thought it was funny. We chatted for a few moments and I was told during that conversation that if Kira did not send back my interview questions by the next week I could get the answers at the adult convention she would be at that next week in Vegas (the show is called the adult entertainment expo).

Sure enough I got them back just before I was leaving for the show. Like two days before and the next day I got a fed ex package from Vivid with three 8 x 10 photos of Kira Kener, autographed by her with a letter of apology for the delay (by that point more than 2 months had passed) and I later had a content and gave out those photos to the Kira Kener fans from this website.

When I got back from the show in Vegas I typed up the questions and posted them ... again as if we were sitting face to face.

About two years goes by and I waned another Kira Kener interview. Kira was signing at the Vivid booth and I wited in line with everyone else. I didn't want any more special treatment than the next guy so I was able to ask her just a few questions in the very, very short time we were able to speak.

A few months later I wrote back into Vivid and asked them to help me get a response from Kira about some drama that was going on between her and another Vivid girl. I asked my two or three questions and got a response in a few days. This time it was done via email. I twice asked Kira a question through MySpace and that was in early 2006. Like ... I asked her about her love of KISS and Gene Simmons. She did respond (or someone on her behalf) and I included all of that data from the various times and sources into one interview tagged as 2006.

So long story short, after providing whoever is pretending to be Kira with this information their new version is that their problem with our site is no longer the photos they claimed we stole and now don't - or the interviews she claimed she never did but now doesn't know for sure ... but now the issue seems to be an image that is not a photo but a little graphic on the side of the website. I told them how I made the image and that it couldn't be stolen from anyone because it's not of any one person. I used images of three different girls to make up the pieces of that silhouette using Paint shop pro that any graphics artist can help them do a pixel by pixel comparison to easily see it in no way actually matches any image they may or may not own. Kira Kener stands in that position in MANY of the photos she has done over the years and I admit I was trying to simulate that with the image.

Since I've addressed every single issue this person who at times claims to be Kira Kener and then at other times say things like "You lied about speaking to her." Why would Kira Kener address herself as "her"? If it was really Kira Kener, wouldn't the person say "ME"?

So since I addressed all of their other issues, they now say that even if I have the right to use the images, I can't use her name and tell people that the person in the photo is Kira Kener because that is her name and nobody can use it but her.

So anyway, long story short I felt i owed it to all of the people who visit this website my side of the story since whoever this person is claiming to be Kira Kener is working hard at slandering me.

Update: I recently had an additional conversation with Kira Kener, or the person claiming to be her. I explained to this person that I am aware of the fact that this isn't Kira Kener for two main reasons ... first and foremost, the person said to me "you have never spoken to her". Kira Kener would have said "you have never spoken to ME". The second reason I know because even if she doesn't remember Vivid giving her faxed in or emailed interviews, she would remember some of her own words - some of which she sat right next to me (face to face) and gave me. You are going to tell me she doesn't ever remember saying things like

I haven't really lost that much weight but I guess over the last few years I have gone down maybe 10 pounds but I really don't diet. I love food far to much for that. But as you know I have a fairly busy work schedule. That probably played the biggest part in my weight loss but I also enjoy playing basketball and well obviously dancing helps too.

I'm not denying that it is possible someone from Vivid's PR department could have faked some of her answers but everything? No way, no how. Anyway .... the conversation didn't go well ... it basically ended with the fact that Kira Kener feels she has the rights to all of her images she did, even while she was with Vivid. I tried to explain to her that she was paid for her work and that Vivid now has the right to use those images to promote those movies to make their money back for the cost of production of those titles and what it cost them to make her a famous porn star.

They spent millions and millions of dollars on making her movies and helping to build up her image. I realize they have now parted ways but it does not change the fact that she made those movies, that they paid for and they have the right to promote them and part of that promotion process is giving people like me money to do it. But in the end this person, whoever it may be didn't want to listen. Kira Kener obviously feels that no matter how much money Vivid spent to make her movies or paid her for doing it, they are HER movies, HER photos from those movies and everyone else can just kiss her ass. This person was very clear that no person has the right to use what she calls HER photos, despite the fact that she doesn't actually own the rights to those photos, Vivid does. Her final response was "fuck you".

I just don't know how to get through to this girl so I'm going to try one last time ... here on this page ....

Dear Kira,

Some company paid you an ungodly amount of money to make movies for them ... that they paid a large amount of money to produce. They released the movies and now pay other people as part of the promotion process to sell those movies. You were paid to take those photos and make those movies and now I get paid to promote them. You claim you make no money off of what I am doing but in fact, that is very much not the case and you know it. You were paid to make the movies ... I'm paid to promote them. These images on my site, may be of you but they are owned by Vivid, PERIODS - no, ifs ands or butts about it. I checked every photo on my website 17 times over just to make sure. Every single photo of you found at this site is owned by Vivid and I use with their permission for the promotion of your movies. When I tried to tell you this previously (or someone claiming to be you, and acting on your behalf) stated that I am wrong, they are your images and I can't use them nor can I use your name to describe you being in those images or movies.

I don't know how else to say this but the photos I use of you from KinkyKira.com are from Vivid and even all have the little Vivid tag on them. One of your own fans even told you when you requested help trying to find websites illegally using your images about me and said they were not from your myspace page but you still didn't listen.

You say you are trying to take control back of your image and stop people from making money off of you but that is what makes this business go around. YOU WERE PAID TO MAKE THOSE MOVIES AND TAKE THOSE PHOTOS, just as I am now paid to promote those very movies. How can I make this any clearer?

I tried to contact you and be civil about this. I tried to find out exactly what was upsetting you and deal with it. Your response was to curse at me.

Well I give up trying to speak with you about this and be civil. I really hope that someone talks some sense into you. I've faithfully been devoted to your success for the last 7 years and this is how you treat your fans? Nice Kira ... Very nice. It's not like I am asking for an apology for calling me names or slandering me publically ... I just want ... well you know what ... I do want an apology. I think if nothing else, that is the least I deserve.
